Robert Helenius VS Siarhei Liakhovich
12 Rounds – Heavyweight Division
Former WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich (25-3, 16 KOs) will be in tough when he challenges WBO/WBA Inter-Continental champion Robert Helenius (15-0, 10 KOs) next Saturday in Efurt, Germany.
“I am ready and looking forward to August 27th,” says Liakhovich. “Helenius is a good fighter. He does certain things in the ring very well. But my job is to take that away from him. I will beat him at what he does badly and will take away what he does well. Fans are going to see a high quality level of boxing and fighting from me.”

Liakhovich has more experience and has fought better opposition, but he’s trying to resurrect a career that has been in the doldrums. He has only fought four times since winning the WBO title in 2006 from Lamon Brewster and lost twice, to Shannon Briggs in 2006 and Nicolay Valuev in 2008.
“My experience is a huge advantage in this fight. I have been to war and back several times in my boxing career. There is no substitute for experience.”
If the 34-year-old, 6’4” Belarusian can get by the undefeated, 27-year-old, 6’7” Helenius on his home court, he’ll have turned the odds and common wisdom on their head
